Ecosystem Building

Ecosystem strategy for the people doing the invisible work.

Because the most important work in your ecosystem happens when the right people are finally in the same room.

You're building something that's never existed before.

You know your entrepreneurial ecosystem better than anyone. You've been building relationships, brokering conversations, and holding things together for years — often without a clear map, adequate resources, or enough people who truly understand what that work costs.

I help entrepreneurship supporters, conveners, and community builders navigate their local ecosystem with clarity, generosity, and a genuine commitment to moving things forward. My services are designed for the people doing this work together, because ecosystems don't change when one person figures it out alone.

The Discovery Call is a free 20-minute conversation to make sure your ecosystem challenges and my approach are genuinely aligned.

Anika is one of the top 5 thought leaders in the United States in entrepreneurial ecosystem building. It’s a new and emerging field, there’s lots to figure out and she has done more than many to help move the practice of entrepreneurial ecosystem building into main street approaches in economic and community development.

How we work together

Tier 1: Ecosystem Roadmap Session

The organizations that should be collaborating are operating in silos. Entrepreneurs can't find the support that exists. Stakeholders are pulling in different directions. Moving a whole ecosystem forward is not something one person can figure out alone.

The Ecosystem Roadmap Session is a structured 90-minute conversation that brings three to five of your key ecosystem stakeholders into the room together.

Before we meet, each participant completes a brief intake so we arrive prepared. Together, we surface what's working, what isn't, and where your collective energy is best spent.

Within a week, you receive your Ecosystem Brief: a written strategic document you can share with your board, present to funders, or use as the foundation for your next planning cycle.

What's included:

  • Pre-session intake for all participants
  • 90-minute multi-stakeholder Ecosystem Roadmap Session
  • Ecosystem Brief delivered within two weeks
  • Follow-up email with immediate next steps

Investment: $1,750 (designed to be shared across ecosystem partners)

The first step is a free 20-minute Discovery Call to make sure your ecosystem challenges and my approach are genuinely aligned. If we're a good match, I'll walk you through exactly what to expect from the Roadmap Session and how to bring your coalition into the process. If we're not, I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.

Tier 2: Ecosystem Compass

You've had the conversation and you know what needs to change, in theory. But the day-to-day reality of ecosystem building pulls you back into the weeds before you've had a chance to act.

The Ecosystem Compass is a three-month strategic partnership for ecosystem coalitions ready to move from clarity to action. Monthly coalition sessions keep momentum alive and direct email access between calls means you're never stuck waiting.

At the close of three months, you leave with an updated Ecosystem Brief and a curated resource library tailored to your ecosystem's specific challenges.

Available only to coalitions that have completed the Ecosystem Roadmap Session.

  • Follow-up action email with resources after each session

  • Curated resource library tailored to your ecosystem

Investment: $6,900 for three months. Pay in full or in two payments of $3,600 at the start of months one and two.

Tier 3: Ecosystem Advisory

The conversations that felt impossible six months ago are happening and you have some early wins in your coalition work. But underneath that progress, most stakeholders carry the same concern: that without something holding space for the group and the work, the old patterns find their way back.

The Ecosystem Advisory is a 12-month strategic partnership for coalitions that have done the work and are not willing to lose what they've built. Each year starts with a shared set of strategic priorities. From there, your coalition drives the agenda: each monthly session is shaped by what's most important for you that month. A brief pre-call check-in form keeps every session focused from the moment we start.

Available only to coalitions that have completed the Ecosystem Roadmap Compass.

How it works

The biggest obstacles to ecosystem progress are rarely related to resources or ideas, even though it looks that way on the surface.

More often, they have to do with the people and organizations in the room, and the ones who aren't. Siloed thinking, duplicated efforts and the sense that you're carrying more of this than others are not unusual perceptions in ecosystems.

That's the work I do.  I focus on relationship infrastructure, strategic clarity, and the shared direction that makes everything else possible. My services are designed for coalitions of three to five ecosystem stakeholders who are ready to work on their ecosystem together, not just alongside each other.

The journey in 3 stages

  • Ecosystem Roadmap Session: A 90-minute diagnostic with your key stakeholders. Surfaces what's working, what isn't, and where your collective energy is best spent. Followed by a written Ecosystem Brief within two weeks.
  • Ecosystem Compass: A three-month strategic partnership for coalitions ready to move from clarity to action. Monthly sessions, direct access between calls, updated Ecosystem Brief and resource library at close.
  • Ecosystem Advisory: A twelve-month partnership for coalitions that have done the work and want to sustain momentum. Monthly sessions, annual strategic framework, ongoing access and support.

Each is available only to coalitions that have completed the one before it. This is a shared investment in your ecosystem, not a service for one organization. The Ecosystem Roadmap Session at $1,750 works out to $350 per organization for a group of five.

I'm so grateful that my path and Anika's were intertwined by our shared love of communities and building connections. Though it's been years since I was in the day-to-day work with entrepreneurs, the lessons have stayed with me.  And my connection to Anika has continued to deepen as we find fun ways to keep cross-pollinating our communities and projects.

What I can help with

  • Surfacing what's actually blocking collaboration
  • Building shared direction across organizations with different mandates
  • Keeping your coalition accountable to the commitments they make to each other
  • Helping you tell the story of this work in language that moves funders and city leaders

This is not for you if:

  • You're looking for a one-time retreat with no follow-through
  • You want a consultant who hands you a report and disappears
  • Your coalition isn't ready to have honest conversations about what's not working
  • You need someone to do the relationship work for you rather than with you
